May 20th update

I was half right on the direction of Nancy's medication schedule.  Today she did get 15% less chemo and all her lab numbers were good. The next 4 days she will get white count booster shots.  However, Dr Anthony had decided to give her every other week off....making the cycle 6 weeks instead of 3.  He hopes this is enough chemo to treat the cancer and the lesser amount would result in Nancy having more energy and feeling better.

Sounds good, so that is the new schedule.

May 18th update

Nancy's heart test went well.  She will start a new schedule starting next Monday.  The chemo dose will be reduced by 15% and be given on Mondays.  This means the white count booster shots will be increased to 4 times per week.

Thanks for all your wonderful support!

May 13th Update

Nancy had a blood draw/labs and a Dr meeting today.  Her white count has improved.  Her energy levels have not.  They are having Nancy get an echocardiogram on Wednesday to make sure her heart is doing well.  If that looks ok, she will most probably restart chemo (maybe at a 15% less doseage) next Monday, followed by 4 days of shots to help the white counts.

Nancy enjoyed Mother's Day as Mike visited from Seattle.

May 8th Update

Nancy (and I) got the best therapy you can have, time with Todd/Ally and the grand-boys last week.  The Curry's of Austin are doing well.

Yesterday Nancy was to start Cycle 4 of chemo.  Her white count was too low so she has to delay until next Tuesday.  This is the second time that the white count prevented getting treatment.  It does sound like this is somewhat expected at times.  It is a reminder that the treatment has been good at going after the bad cells, however it still does go after the good cells as well.

Thanks for all your thoughts and support, BC
